A private GitHub repository from day one: the development policy we show every client

Source, history and releases in one place. What you receive at delivery is written down at the first request.

Every project lives in a private repository under Paradigma7's control from the first commit. Weekly commits, a protected main branch, reviews and tagged releases are standard. Depending on delivery terms, the client receives repository access or a full source handover.

If you do not know on day one what you receive at delivery, there is no delivery.

01Why day one, not later

Opening the repository at the end of a project means losing the history. Often the only thing that explains why a decision was made is that week's commit messages and review comments. They cannot be reconstructed afterwards.

A weekly commit stream is also the most honest progress report there is: not a slide, but timestamped work.

02What is in the handover package

Source and full history, run instructions, the list of environment variables (without values), database migrations, infrastructure definitions and the tag of the last release. The benchmark is whether a new team can bring it up from scratch — we test exactly that on a clean machine before handover.
